Design & Development Associates have secured consent for a 5 meter rear extension in Bournemouth under the Neighbourhood Consultation Scheme.
The client, who was looking to extend their home to create a large kitchen living dining room, approach us to prepare the required plans. We advised that the proposal falls under extended permitted development scheme known as the neighbourhood consultation scheme. This means that for detached houses you can extend up to 8 meters providing you submit plans to the local authority and wait the 42 days for a response. This 42 day period is broken down into 21 days for the neighbours to write to the local authority, and 21 days for the council to confirm prior approval is not required.
Under this scheme, semi detached properties can also extend up to 6 meters providing they submit plans under the same process.
Now that the approval is given for this extension, we are now preparing detailed building regulation plans for building control approval so works can commence at the end of September.
