Design & Development Associates have secured planning permission for a contemporary overhaul of a bungalow in St Leonards.
Our client wanted to overhaul a bungalow to create a stunning contemporary property, which is set in a well proportioned corner plot. Our remit was to design a property with a large kitchen/ living area overlooking the garden, a new lounge/media room, an integral garage and a ground floor bedroom with en-suite. At first floor level our client wanted 4 double bedrooms with a minimum of 3 en-suite and a large bathroom. On top of this our client wanted a large gallery entrance to give that all important wow factor!
To achieve the above we had to design a new front, rear and side extension, a new loft conversion along with a contemporary overhaul. A copy of our design plans are below showing the beautiful transformation of this property. Needless to say the client loved our proposal and this was put forward to East Dorset District Council as a householder planning application. Along with our existing and proposed plans, we submitted an Arboricultural Impact Assessment & Method Statement detailing any impact the building works would have on nearby trees and prevention measures to safeguard the roots.
The planning officer reviewed our application and no concerns were raised over our design proposal. The application was recommended for approval and the scheme was formally approved within 8 weeks of submission.
We are now working with structural engineers and building control parties to produce a building regulation submission so the works can commence in February of this year.
