Design & Development Associates have secured an 8 meter rear extension under the Neighbourhood Consultation Scheme for a property in Bournemouth.

The proposal is to part demolish an existing extension and construct a new 8 meter pitched roof extension for a new kitchen/living area 8 meters from the original rear wall of the property. Under extended permitted development tolerances set out by the government, it is now possible to extend a property 8 meters from the original rear wall of a detached dwelling under the Prior Approval procedure.

This procedure involves existing and proposed plans being produced of the proposal and submitted to the local authority. The local authority inform both neighbours of the proposal, and providing no objections are raised issue an approval within 42 days of submission.
