Design & Development Associates have secured planning permission for a single storey rear extension in Milford on Sea.

Our client wanted to extend their existing kitchen to allow for a contemporary living space to a traditionally styled property. To achieve this, Design & Development Associates proposed a new single storey flat roof rear extension with large elements of glazing with a feature wrap around glazing element which consists of seamless full height glazing from wall to flat roof back down to the wall. This encourages as much natural light as possible and gives a clear definition between traditional and contemporary. We also incorporated a floor to ceiling triple track sliding door system which will spread across the rear of the kitchen allowing for full view of the garden.

We undertook a measured site survey of the property and produced detailed existing floor plans and elevations to show the council their current arrangement. Our design proposal was submitted to the Bournemouth Borough Council and the application was subsequently approved within 8 weeks of submission.
