Design & Development Associates have secured planning permission for a two storey side extension to a detached dwelling in Ferndown.
The scheme was to undertake a two storey extension to allow for a ground floor self contained annex to the existing dwelling. This kitchens has a single bedroom with en-suite and a living area with a small kitchenette. At first floor level there is a new master bedroom with a large walk in wardrobe and en-suite.
The approved scheme has the extension set back at first floor level to reduce the overall mass being added. This set back allows for a lower ridge line and will therefore help reduce the impact to the street scene.
As the property is situated on a corner plot the extension front a public highway so a planning application is required. We undertook a measured survey of the property to show the council the current arrangement and undertook a design proposal for consideration. A copy of our planning drawings are below.
